The Yorkshire Terrier - An Introduction.

The Commercial Revolution sent many agricultural employees to Yorkshire to work in the coal mines.

initially they were much bigger than they are now. The 1st Yorkie that appeared as they do today made its appearance in a dog show in 1870. When theyre born, their fur is black and tan. They have v-shaped ears that stand erect on the head of their heads which causes them to look constantly alert. Yorkies weigh not more than 7 to eight pounds and theyre usually an insignificant 6 to 7 inches tall. Like many thoroughbred dogs, Yorkies are susceptible to some genetic anomalies like Distichiasis ( eyelash that arises atypically on eyelid ), Hydrocephalus ( water in the brain ), Legg-Perthes illness ( deteriorative illness of hip joint ), and bladder stones. Congratulations on getting a Yorkie puppy. Now while its a fact that Yorkies may make smaller messes but the dimensions of the mess does not actually affect the amount you're going to spend on cleaning up after your puppy.

Yorkies need to be trained in the same methods an enormous dog would. These pets only need a tiny space to do their business meaning a flowerbed can do miracles. As soon as they make it into the heat of your house the desire to go will come right back and the puppy will likely go on the floor. You may need to lay down some paper in a box and keep it in the garage as a backup potty plan during stormy weather. This should really only be used for short amounts of time so that your dog still knows it must use the potty in the yard. You wont notice it till its all over your carpet and the same applies for your neighbors. Like many thoroughbred dogs, Yorkies are susceptible to some genetic aberrations like Distichiasis ( eyelash that arises atypically on eyelid ), Hydrocephalus ( water in the brain ), Legg-Perthes illness ( deteriorative disease of hip joint ), and bladder stones. Little Teacup Yorkies are far more sure to exhibit these issues. They do demand a large amount of attention, though . Yorkies are yappy but they're intellectual dogs and can be taught not to bark. Yorkies are active dogs but they don't need a gigantic yard. Have lots more articles on cat carriers. They, like all dogs, need to be walked frequently to avoid behaviour issues.
